ClickFax, a division of Data Fabrication, is a flexible service that is compatible with a long list of software including Outlook, Act, Goldmine and Upshot. If they do not serve your area code, they offer a low priced toll free number option.
Although ClickFax works with many programs and types of internet services, they only support 50 free faxes per month and charge extra for unlimited storage.
Feature Set:
Through ClickFax faxes can be sent through a DSL, cable, dial-up or LAN network and is available in many areas codes in the US and Canada. If they do not support your area code, you can purchase a toll free number for only an extra $1 per month.
ClickFax works with most popular software address books including many Microsoft programs, Lotus Notes, ACCPAC Simply Accounting and Pro Series. This service also has the ability to broadcast faxes and will not charge you if you receive an unsolicited spam fax.
One unique feature this service offers is a back up copy CD. For an additional $10 per month, you can request a copy of all faxes for that particular month.
This product falls short compared to some of our higher ranked products because they charge for forwarding faxes, you can not schedule the time a fax is sent and it can not add a signature without additional software.
Ease of Use:
Unlike most fax services, sending faxes through ClickFax is not the same as sending an email. It has its own software and the desired files and addresses have to be loaded into it. However, despite this difference, the product is easy to use.
Customer Service:
We found ClickFax’s customer service to be quick and responsive; they replied to our email within an hour and a half and answered all of our questions.
One thing that this company could do to improve on their customer service is to add a few other methods of contact, such as a live chat option or a telephone number.
Price/Extra Costs:
ClickFax’s rates are comparable to other services, for the individual or home office send/receive package the service charges $9.95 per month with a $9.95 setup fee. This includes up to 50 send/receive faxes per month and 10 cents/ea after that. Additionally, if you would like unlimited storage the cost is $39.95 per month.
Summary:
For those that are looking for a fax service that is compatible with their software and do not anticipate sending or receiving a high volume of faxes, ClickFax is a good choice.
