Free yourself from your obsolete fax machine and go virtual with FaxFreedom. FaxFreedom from FreedomVoice Systems offers several good options for small businesses that need basic fax service, or need robust security and a vanity fax number.

This fax service also supports an easy-to-use and highly functional control panel; however, they fall behind the top fax services because this service cannot schedule fax send times and does not have the ability to send multiple documents in one fax.

Feature Set:

FaxFreedom offers a wide range of good basic features at a competitive price. Through this service, you can send, receive, forward, archive, print and label faxes. They also offer 800 numbers and vanity numbers, and you can even use an existing 800 or 888 number if you want to change to their service and keep your number.

FaxFreedom provides a convenient and easy-to-use control panel called WebLINK Personal Internet Control Panel. From this control panel users can send, receive and forward faxes, archive and label documents, adjust fax settings, access send/receive reports and perform several account maintenance activities. Since this service is web based, busy signals never occur with incoming faxes.

Even though this service provides some excellent features, you cannot schedule send times or send multiple document in one fax.

Ease of Use:

Using FaxFreedom is simple; when a fax is sent to a fax number, FaxFreedom converts the fax to a PDF or TIFF file, sends the converted document to an email and then the fax can be retrieved as an attachment. Their control panel makes managing faxes a breeze.

Customer Service:

FaxFreedom has excellent customer support, they responded to our emails within an hour. It would be helpful if they added other support options such as a chat service, more detailed online help, and 24/7 support.

As it stands, FaxFreedom support is open Monday through Friday from 6a to 6p Pacific Standard Time.

Price/Extra Costs:

FaxFreedom charges differently than other services; most services offer a certain number of faxes, whereas FaxFreedom offers minutes. For example, some services offer 100 free sent/receive faxes per month. FaxFreedom offers 100 free minutes per month, with each fax taking an average of one minute to complete.

The basic price for this service is $9.95 per month and they do not require a set up fee. However, if you want a vanity number, there is a one time fee of $30, an 800 number is $15 or a local fax number is $10 per month. As far as their prices per fax, they are slightly less than other services, charging only 6.9 cents per minute inbound or outbound.
