MyFax, owned and operated by Protus IP Solutions Inc, offers a functional selection of features, is compatible with a variety of popular formats and has earned the "TopTenREVIEWS Gold Award."
MyFax, with its recent improvements, beats out the competition by offering up to 300 faxed pages per month for $10. In addition, those that prefer Mozilla Firefox can now use this service.

Feature Set:
MyFax, our top pick, out performs the competition by offering almost every feature we looked for including a high level of compatibility with many formats and web browsers. This service also accommodates those that need a high level of security with SSL encryption and additional data encryption devices.
In terms of compatibility, MyFax works with Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla Firefox and web based email providers such as Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail. This service supports 178 file formats including Adobe, Corel, Lotus, Microsoft products, Mac PICT and MacPaint. MyFax also supplies a free MyFax plug-in for interactivity with Microsoft Outlook.
MyFax faxes can be sent through an email account and is capable of sending multiple documents to up to nine recipients. They offer several account management features including password protection and reporting. The basic service supports up to 100 outbound and 200 inbound fax pages before additional fees apply.
We found that MyFax includes local numbers for about 30 states in the union, mostly in large metropolitan areas. However, those in small or less populated states can use the toll free numbers for free. They will also provide cell phone notifications if you are out of town.
Ease of Use:
Sending and receiving faxes through MyFax is as simple as sending an email. The service converts the body of the email to a cover letter. Incoming faxes arrive as an email with an attachment.
Customer Service:
MyFax provides an accommodating customer support team. They offer online chat, a toll free phone number, email support and extensive online help including demos and FAQs. We contacted the company through the live chat service and the operator proved to be helpful and quick to respond.
Price/Extra Costs:
MyFax offers an uncomplicated price structure. The basic service is $10/month, includes 100 outbound and 200 inbound free pages and charges 10 cents for each page after the limit is met. There is not a setup fee. They offer three additional packages with up to 1000 pages sent or received.
Summary:
For those interested in an email based fax service, MyFax offers the most features and fax allotments for the price.
