Telus online fax service offers most basic features and some good security support. However, their monthly price is higher than others and they charge for all sent faxes.
Feature Set:
Telus’s service provides most of the features we were looking for including the ability to send faxes through an email program or through their website. They also support the ability to schedule when faxes are to be sent. In terms of security, they offer password protection and encrypt transmissions.
They support several customization features such as custom cover pages that incorporate your company logo or symbol. Since faxes can be sent through their website, faxes can be sent from anywhere in the world.
Even though Telus offers many standard features, it does not have the ability to send a receipt notice to a cell phone and does not support the assignment of a vanity number.
Ease of Use:
As long as you know how to send an email with an attachment, you can easily use this service. Their web interface is logically arranged and easy to navigate through as well.
Customer Service:
This service offers email and toll free telephone support. We found their email responses to be a bit slow, as it took them a day to respond to our email; however, they did answer all of our questions. Unfortunately, they do not support instant assistance through a chat service.
Price/Extra Costs:
Telus charges a bit more than most of the other services that we reviewed. They charge $12.95 per month and this does not include free sends. They support up to 200 free receives, but every send costs 12 cents. This really limits the flexibility of this service, since they only cater to those that plan to receive faxes.
Summary:
This service, since it charges for all sends, is a good choice for those that only plan to receive faxes.
